Me. Garvin did a great job on the machine work he did for me. He was very knowledgeable and professional throughout the process. I will def be coming back when I need more machine work done!

It seems as if Garvin is past his prime in terms of doing business reasonably. I was hopeful when i seen some of the nice reviews (sadly they were years ago). When i arrived i was greeted with an attitude and given a ridiculous price to resurface a flywheel. I’m sure there’s likely a reason for why he is the way he is but that doesn’t excuse treating anyone you just met poorly. There’s other machine shops in town, i’d recommend saving yourself some time, money and frustration and go elsewhere.

Chucks Garage, Shop of 14 years. Dropped a head 2 weeks ago for bolt extract. Did great on extraction. Went to have valves redone, called every 4-5 days for update. Got yelled at for calling too much and to p/u my heads outside. Waste of 2 weeks and now I have to explain to my customer why will take longer. Very unprofessional! Extremely rude!

Very expensive compared to other shops in the area. Wanted $150 to mill a cylinder head plus additional fees to clean it. Also quoted 2-3 turnaround. I found same day service including cleaning for $120 across town. The people at the other shop also seemed more engaging in conversation.

I bought a "rebuilt" 57 chevy 235 from Garvin. He told me it would be a straight swap with my 53 motor. I had to modify car to accomdate it and replace many items that were not interchangeable on engine block. He did not give me all engine bolts and so I had source a new set and once I took it to a shop to have heads installed i was informed that the heads were cracked and that it had been welded and machined over to appear smooth. I am military and am no longer in the area so I had to eat the cost and source new heads. Beware of this place. They were condescending and ripped me off. I ended up spending an additional 1000.00 to get motor in working order.
